The Polywire machine was designed and manufactured to sew marble, granite and other ornamental stones by the means of several diamond wires at the same time. These diamond wires are turned by means of two flywheel sets, a movable set and an idle set moved on the horizontal plan so as to ensure the hydraulic tensioning of every single wire. The cutting motion is obtained by means of the vertical sliding of the two flywheel groups on two drive columns. The cooling of the diamond wires is carried out by water that is also utilized to drag the cutting debris away, in this way reducing the emission of dust to air.
