This machine is like brand new, only used for samples after set up.
O.M.G.M. Srl is proud to present the “COMET R3” edge polisher; it is the result of 40 years of
responsible work exclusively in edge polishers designing and manufacturing.
Simple and functional, the “COMET R3” has been designed for:
- STRAIGHT EDGES POLISHING;
- CURVED EDGES POLISHING;
- CURVED EDGES “DOUBLE EASE” POLISHING;
- CHAMFERS POLISHING;
- EDGE CALIBRATION.
The "COMET" can do the above mentioned works on slabs and blocks of granite, marble and
similar stones with a thickness between 20 and 60 mm, for both flat and curved edges.
This particular machine embodies all the characteristics of two polishing machines: the one for
round edgses and the one for straight ones; the first half of the machine is an actual polisher for
round edges with a rotating head mounted on a connecting-rod assembly, while the second half is a
polisher of straight edges with 6 pneumatic heads mounted on a “brandeggio” system for the
polishing of thick edges. These two machining combined together make the creation of new profiles
possible, which would be impossible to obtain with a simple polishing machine.
In the initial part of the machine a calibrator is placed for the thickness calibration, two diamond
shapers follow, an upper and a lower one, for the rough machining of the corners. Then, the
oscillating heads are placed, with a diamond head and 7 pneumatic abrasive heads. These heads are
managed by the PLC and they set automatically on the thickness they have to work with, whch has
been previously set up by the operator. Lastly, there are 6 pneumatic polishing heads mounted on a
“brandeggio”.
Since its versatility, the Comet R3 is able to operate “double ease” and straight profiles, chamfers
and it can even combine all the machining process in numerous versions.
